Why shouldn't we see Glenn Greenwald's "Let Russia Have Ukraine" argument as literally repeating Kremlin talking points?

First of all, where did the Kremlin say "Let us have Ukraine?"  They reluctantly invaded in 2022 after years of frustration over broken promises from a West that was baiting them into war for the purpose of destabilizing Russia a'la Afghanistan.

You're probably not going to like this, but "Russia reluctantly invaded" sounds like a Kremlin talking point. Russia invaded in 2014, was occupying Crimea and had been providing troops and weapons to fight in eastern Ukraine since that time. Those are facts.

How many people have been prosecuted and convicted for whatever Trump was convicted for?

"The Manhattan DA’s office has filed charges for falsification of business records 9,794 times since 2015. When announcing the charges, Bragg emphasized the importance of the integrity of business records in Manhattan, the 'home to the country’s most significant business market.' He explained: 'We cannot allow New York businesses to manipulate their records to cover up criminal conduct.' At the time of Trump’ s indictment, Bragg, had already filed 120 cases alleging violations of 175-10, all of them in the first degree based on the concealment or commission of another crime."

Didja see this about the beautiful 1898 GE Thomson Surrey?

It’s just kept just a couple hours north from here, in wonderful running condition. Apparently on 3 were made and this is the last remaining. Photo depicts GE  founder Elihu Thomson driving with Thomas Edison and Hermann Lemp.

Discussion: What series should I watch next?

I was on a 6-hour flight this past long weekend and I watched True Detective: Night Country starring Jodie Foster. I watched three episodes on the outbound flight and three on the way back. Unfortunately, it's 7 episodes. Not sure I get HBO at home. I liked it a lot. Gruesome at times, spooky at many moments. Very engaging story and characters. Indigenous people of the Alaskan Arctic and their situation play a big role with their interesting history and tattoos.  I've always loved Jodie Foster so it's a treat to see her.

When your version of speaking "truth to power" means defending the armed invasion and occupation of another country, it may be time to revisit your definitions.

The U.S. has not sent military forces across Ukraine's border to kill Ukrainians. Russia has.

The U.S. has not sent military forces across Ukraine's border to seize Ukrainian land. Russia has.

The U.S. has not sent bombs and missiles to destroy Ukrainian cities and towns. Russia has.

All your words, Nan, don't take away from this fact. Russia is using its power to kill, smash, and maim Ukraine and Ukrainians. And you spend your time on this thread explaining why you believe this is justified.
