The NYT Spelling Bee Thread

That was the first pangram I found. Thought it odd too.

Glad you gave me the opportunity to ask if we can set a new ground rule.

I propose making it OK to name and discuss the prior day’s words once the new puzzle is out.

What say you all?

Maybe a slightly longer buffer? Sometimes I don't get around to starting the bee until the evening, and leave the app open to try and finish up the next day. If I'm careful not to accidentally leave the bee, the previous puzzle still stays active on my phone. So, maybe noon of the next day?

Unfortunately, the previous day's answers only stay up for a day ... and there are some of us who like (or are able) to start early.

I did not find the questionable pangram yesterday, but my son is of the opinion that if a pangram seems iffy, there is usually a better, more legit one. Seems to be the case since I’ve been keeping it in mind.

I found the questionable one, but not the other. :-( I really just put in the letters, not expecting it to work.

Seems we’re still dancing around naming words

The “questionable one” was unicolor. The “more legit one” was councilor.

Did that offend anyone?

43 words and 226 points for the "b" day. Don't think I'll get any more. I am happy with getting this far.

 OOOPS!!! I won't do that...

...and neither will I. I'll wait until the following day's puzzle is posted to look up the previous day's answers. Meanwhile, today's "N" puzzle has been one of those where I got to Genius without the pangram and it'll probably stay that way.

Just got the pangram! Put me at genius.

still no pangram...but I've managed to reach 52 words/220 points without it

I got the pangram on the first word, but I didn't realize it was a pangram until later. Weird.

LOL

 Jokes about today's pangram

Still don't get it. Maybe it's a different pangram?

Do you want a private message spoiler?

I'm only at 35 words for 122 points, and no pangram.  There must be a whole bunch of words I'm not seeing   LOL

ETA: 41 words for 154 points, and no pangram.  Next game appears in under an hour.  Time to go and do something else for an hour or two.

I combined lists with my son when we were at 212 and 213. Had pretty different lists so we made it to 248 but not seeing anything else.

no thanks. apparently I was still on the 6/2 puzzle. Never did the 6/3. Major brain fart.

Haha! I was thinking there was a second pangram I just wasn’t seeing.

Missed five words yesterday --- including the pangram. Guess I wasn't on your wavelength jimmurphy!

It’s words like “linnet” that will likely prevent me from ever getting QB. Missed three.

Today’s pangram is a toughie.

The bee is mainly an exercise in learning obscure bird names.

The real value comes the day after when you learn such words.

 Yeah, it was weird.
