That's right. Members of the press attend but they don't report on it. They can say anything they want and it does not leave the room. They can decide how the press is going to handle the war or climate change going forward (propaganda). This is not how we traditionally think of the press. The press is supposed to speak truth to power, not coordinate in secret meetings.
The neocon thinktanks are all there getting their marching orders as well. They can decide to stop, start or continue pushing wars. They can plan propaganda which will distributed through the press.
Increasing profits of major companies can be planned, even if it hurts ordinary Americans or puts them in harm's way.
Basically, they can do what they want and we can't know. That's not how a democracy is supposed to run.
