Trump/ Harris debate
Kamala Harris should focus on stating the facts, rather than fact checking (saying, "the truth is" more than "that's a false statement"), and present cogent direct answers. Her mere presence is enough to enrage Trump, and if she doesn't react to his initial attempts to belittle her, he may "ramp up" his offensiveness.

How can someone debate the truth with trump? He doesn’t even know what the word debate means. For someone, like a lawyer perhaps, this can be frustrating because he’s difficult to debate, he doesn’t follow the rules. with complete disregard for structure and norms, his style becomes an unexpectedly effective strategy. The moderators should be keeping him in check when he doesn’t answer questions. He uses these debates as his own personal rallying.
I would love to see Kamala just take the gloves off and go full “Madea” on him, it’s time to put this man in his place.

ABC better ask him why he is spreading lies like Dems supporting infanticide, kids getting their penises cut off in school and Haitians eating cats.

I was looking forward to missing this debate completely. I can’t stand hearing or seeing that man, and there’s nothing that he will say that I can’t read about tomorrow.
But apparently my daughter has to watch for US History class. I can’t let her endure that alone.
Harris winning so far. First 20 minutes was about a draw but last 10 mins Harris is getting some separation.

I'm right there with ya. I just turned it on, against my better judgement. Trump was speaking. 3 seconds was all I could take. Watching Goodfellas on AMC instead.

Except about the NYT, who just can't help themselves. Here's a fact check.

False.
Unemployment spiked to its worst levels since the Great Depression in the pandemic recession of 2020, but it was 6.4 percent the month Trump left office. That’s nowhere near the worst rate since the Depression.
I guess it depends on what "left us" means. Regardless, the NYT's take is nuts.

problem is that the voters who might possibly be susceptible to being affected are undoubtedly not watching in any significant number.
The strategy seems to be to egg him on to say things that people will find crazy. And it has been effective. That being said, the moderators are correcting him on everything he says that is not true and they are letting Kamala slide.

um, he doesn't need to be egged on to say crazy things. actual crazy things. not things "that people will find crazy", which implies that the crazy things he says are not actually crazy.
