SETON HALL STATUS Seton Hall fell to 1-4 in BIG EAST Conference play with an 85-73 loss at #11 Georgetown last Thursday. All four losses have come to teams ranked among the nation's Top-13. The Pirates will now return home for two straight before heading on the road for three games.
LOUISVILLE STATUS Louisville enters Thursday's game with an overall record of 12-6 and a 3-2 mark in the BIG EAST. The Cardinals have lost two straight including a heart-breaking overtime loss to #16 Pittsburgh, 82-77, on Saturday. The Cardinals are just 1-3 on the road this season.

SETON HALL STATUS With a 64-61 upset victory over #9 Pittsburgh on Sunday, Seton Hall has a chance to get to .500 in the BIG EAST should they defeat the USF Bulls on Thursday. After an 0-3 conference start, the Pirates are now 3-4 thanks to wins in three of their last four games. Seton Hall's victory over Pittsburgh is their first Top-10 win since the 2005-06 season. Jeremy Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks second in the conference with 22.2 points per game. Herb Pope leads the BIG EAST with 11.1 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Seton Hall has never lost to USF in seven games.
USF STATUS USF enters Thursday's game with a 12-7 overall record and a 2-5 mark in BIG EAST Conference play. The Bulls have won two of their last three games including a thrilling 109-105 overtime victory at Providence on Saturday. Junior Dominque Jones erupted for 46 points in the victory. To date, Jones is averaging a team-best 21 points per game. One of the premier newcomers in the league this year is USF's Jarrid Famous who is averaging 11.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

PIRATES FALL TO USF IN OVERTIME Despite 28 points from junior Jeremy Hazell, the Seton Hall fell in overtime to USF, 76-74 in Tampa on Jan. 28. The Pirates committed just eight turnovers and out-rebounded the Bulls, 43-to-35, but could not dismiss the hot shooting of USF's Dominique Jones who also went for 28 points.
AGAINST THE RANKED Pittsburgh enters Saturday's game as the #22-ranked team in the nation by the Associated Press Poll. Seton Hall is 2-4 all-time against teams ranked #22. Overall, the Pirates are 65-209 all-time against teams ranked in the Top-25.

Most recently, the Pirates lost at #22 Pittsburgh, 83-68, on Saturday. The Pirates were without guard Keon Lawrence, who missed the trip due to personal matters. Jordan Theodore was limited due to a bout of turf toe. Both are expected to play against Notre Dame. NOTRE DAME STATUS The Fighting Irish enter the game with a 17-7 overall record and a 6-5 mark in the BIG EAST play. Since losing four out of five games, Notre Dame has bounced back nicely with home victories over Cincinnati and USF. Most recently, they downed the Bulls, 65-62, on Sunday. Luke Harangody leads the Irish and the BIG EAST in scoring with a 24.5 points per game average. Tim Abromaitis and Ben Hansborough are also averaging in double-figures in scoring. Notre Dame is only 1-4 on the road this season.

Junior Jeremy Hazell scored 18 points to the team, while sophomore Herb Pope pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds. For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks second in the conference with 22.4 points per game. Pope leads the BIG EAST with 11.0 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Seton Hall is now 12-3 at home this season, but heads out on the road for their next two games.
ST. JOHN'S STATUS The St. John's Red Storm enter Wednesday's game with a very similar record to that of Seton Hall. The Red Storm are 14-10 overall and 4-8 in conference play. They've won two straight and most recently edged Notre Dame in Indiana, 69-68, on Sunday. Two players are currently averaging in double-figures in scoring for St. John's, D.J. Kennedy (14.9 ppg.) and Dwight Hardy (11.0 ppg.). The Red Storm are 10-4 at home this year, but are 6-1 at Carnesecca Arena.
CARNESECCA ARENA Since the 1961-62 season, Carnesecca Arena has been a house of horrors for opponents. St. John's is 410-75 all-time at the on-campus arena. Seton Hall is just 2-19 all-time at Carnesecca Arena and hasn't won there since March 3, 1990. Last season, the Pirates lost, 70-65. Two years ago, Anthony Mason, Jr. beat Seton Hall on a buzzer-beater, 65-62.

SETON HALL STATUS Seton Hall won their first BIG EAST road game of the season and third straight overall with a 59-50 victory at St. John's on Wednesday. The Pirates overcame injuries to Eugene Harvey and Jeremy Hazell, both of which are considered day-to-day. For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks second in the conference with 21.9 points per game. Pope leads the BIG EAST with 11.0 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Seton Hall is now 6-7 in the BIG EAST, one win shy of their highest total in the Bobby Gonzalez era.
WEST VIRGNIA'S STATUS West Virginia enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 20-5 and a BIG EAST mark of 9-4. Currently, the Mountaineers are ranked eighth in the country, but have lost two of their last three games. Most recently, they got back on the winning track with an 88-74 victory at Providence on Wednesday. Da'Sean Butler continues to lead West Virginia in scoring with a 17.7 clip. Four players are averaging in double-figures in scoring including Devin Ebanks who had 22 points and 17 rebounds vs. Seton Hall in December.

Jeremy Hazell was limited with a lacerated right hand. For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks third in the conference with 21.4 points per game. Pope leads the BIG EAST with 11.0 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Seton Hall is now 6-8 in the BIG EAST and returns to the Prudential Center for the final two home games of the season.
RUTGERS' STATUS Rutgers had been red-hot with wins in five of their last six games before losing to Connecticut, 76-58, on Saturday. During that stretch, the Scarlet Knights edged #8 Georgetown. Three players are currently averaging in double-figures in scoring for Rutgers, including freshman Dane Miller, who has won BIG EAST Rookie of the Week honors three consecutive weeks. Mike Rosario leads the team with 16.1 points per game.

The Pirates picked up their seventh BIG EAST win of the season, which matches their season-high under Bobby Gonzalez. For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks third in the conference with 21.5 points per game. Pope leads the BIG EAST with 11.0 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Sunday's game with Marquette is the final regular season home game for Seton Hall. Seniors John Garcia and Eugene Harvey will be honored in pre-game ceremonies.
MARQUETTE'S STATUS Marquette has been red hot as of late with wins in seven of their last eight games. Since a loss to #19 Pittsburgh on Feb. 18, the Golden Eagles have registered a pair of overtime victories over Cincinnati, and most recently, St. John's on Wednesday. Junior Jimmy Butler hit a fall-away jumper at the buzzer to register the Marquette win at Carnesecca Arena. Senior Lazar Hayward leads the Golden Eagles with 18.2 points per game.

For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks third in the conference with 21.4 points per game. Pope leads the BIG EAST with 10.9 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Seton Hall's last two games of the regular season are on the road at Rutgers (3/4) and at Providence (3/6).
RUTGERS' STATUS Rutgers got back into the win column with a 71-62 victory over DePaul on Saturday. Sophomore Mike Rosario led the team with 24 points. Thursday's game against Seton Hall will be Senior Night for the Scarlet Knights, who will honor their lone senior Hamady Ndiaye. It is also their final home game of the regular season. Rosario continues to lead the team in scoring for a second straight year with a 16.4 points per game average. Rosario had a team-high 17 points against the Pirates earlier this year.
SETON HALL - RUTGERS SERIES Seton Hall and Rutgers will hook up on Thursday for the 57th time in history and the second time in nine days this season. The Pirates lead the all-time series 32-24 and has won three straight. Each of the last seven games in this series have either gone to overtime or been decided by six points or less. Most recently, Seton Hall defeated Rutgers, 76-70, on Feb. 23.
