ROCK'N Tampa - Go Pirates!

SETON HALL STATUS
With a 64-61 upset victory over #9 Pittsburgh on Sunday, Seton Hall has a chance to get to .500 in the BIG EAST should they defeat the USF Bulls on Thursday. After an 0-3 conference start, the Pirates are now 3-4 thanks to wins in three of their last four games. Seton Hall's victory over Pittsburgh is their first Top-10 win since the 2005-06 season. Jeremy Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks second in the conference with 22.2 points per game. Herb Pope leads the BIG EAST with 11.1 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Seton Hall has never lost to USF in seven games.

USF STATUS
USF enters Thursday's game with a 12-7 overall record and a 2-5 mark in BIG EAST Conference play. The Bulls have won two of their last three games including a thrilling 109-105 overtime victory at Providence on Saturday. Junior Dominque Jones erupted for 46 points in the victory. To date, Jones is averaging a team-best 21 points per game. One of the premier newcomers in the league this year is USF's Jarrid Famous who is averaging 11.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Seton Hall (12-8, 3-6) at #22 Pittsburgh (16-6, 6-4)
6pm SNY

PIRATES FALL TO USF IN OVERTIME
Despite 28 points from junior Jeremy Hazell, the Seton Hall fell in overtime to USF, 76-74 in Tampa on Jan. 28. The Pirates committed just eight turnovers and out-rebounded the Bulls, 43-to-35, but could not dismiss the hot shooting of USF's Dominique Jones who also went for 28 points.

AGAINST THE RANKED
Pittsburgh enters Saturday's game as the #22-ranked team in the nation by the Associated Press Poll. Seton Hall is 2-4 all-time against teams ranked #22. Overall, the Pirates are 65-209 all-time against teams ranked in the Top-25.

I was momentarily confused into thinking that this was a baseball thread.

Current #22 team is, believe it or not, Cornell. I wonder how they'd do against the Pirates.

That is the most up-to-date standing, but at game time, U Pitt was #22. And SHU clobbered Cornell in Ithaca back in December.

For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks second in the conference with 22.0 points per game. Herb Pope leads the BIG EAST with 10.9 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform.

Family Night w/ Pizza Buffet
St John's (14-10, 4-8) vs. Seton Hall (14-9, 5-7)
7:30pm MSG, Carnesecca Arena - Queens, N.Y

SETON HALL STATUS
Seton Hall ran their BIG EAST home win streak to five with a 79-71 victory over DePaul on Sunday. Junior Jeremy Hazell scored 18 points to the team, while sophomore Herb Pope pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds. For the season, Hazell leads the Pirates and ranks second in the conference with 22.4 points per game. Pope leads the BIG EAST with 11.0 rebounds per game in his first season in a Pirates uniform. Seton Hall is now 12-3 at home this season, but heads out on the road for their next two games.

ST. JOHN'S STATUS
The St. John's Red Storm enter Wednesday's game with a very similar record to that of Seton Hall. The Red Storm are 14-10 overall and 4-8 in conference play. They've won two straight and most recently edged Notre Dame in Indiana, 69-68, on Sunday. Two players are currently averaging in double-figures in scoring for St. John's, D.J. Kennedy (14.9 ppg.) and Dwight Hardy (11.0 ppg.). The Red Storm are 10-4 at home this year, but are 6-1 at Carnesecca Arena.

CARNESECCA ARENA
Since the 1961-62 season, Carnesecca Arena has been a house of horrors for opponents. St. John's is 410-75 all-time at the on-campus arena. Seton Hall is just 2-19 all-time at Carnesecca Arena and hasn't won there since March 3, 1990. Last season, the Pirates lost, 70-65. Two years ago, Anthony Mason, Jr. beat Seton Hall on a buzzer-beater, 65-62.
