Prudential Center Game Schedule:
SHU v. Syracuse Newark, NJ 9:00 pm

Syracuse enters Tuesday's game as one of the few unbeaten teams in the nation with a perfect 12-0 record and ranked #5 in the country by both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Polls. Most recently, they defeated Oakland, 92-60, on Dec. 22. Their game with Seton Hall is their BIG EAST opener and first road game of the season. Last year, the Orange opened the conference slate with the Pirates and defeated them 100-76 at the Carrier Dome. Four Orange are averaging in double-figures in scoring.

Despite a valiant Seton Hall effort against the sixth-ranked team in the country, the Pirates fell in overtime to West Virginia, 90-84, on Dec. 26. Seton Hall found themselves down 10 with only 56 seconds remaining, but rallied to tie the score and send the game into overtime. The free throw performance by SHU lacked effective coaching - no team shoots 48% from the line and comes out winning.

All will be well if we win tonight! GO PIRATES!

Men's Basketball Game Schedule
SHU Vs Connecticut 9:00PM

Seton Hall dropped their third straight game with a hard-fought loss to Virginia Tech in overtime, 103-94, on Saturday. It was the inaugural game of a new tournament, the Governor’s Cup, in Cancun, Mexico. Five players scored in double-figures for the Pirates who were led by Jeremy Hazell with 24 points. Hazell is second in the BIG EAST in scoring with 23.3 points per game while sophomore Herb Pope leads the conference with 11.7 rebounds per game. The Pirates have lost nine straight to UConn and have not won at Gampel Pavilion since the 1992 season.

Connecticut enters Wednesday’s game as the 13th-ranked team in the country and winners of four of their last five games. Most recently, the Huskies defeated Notre Dame, 82-70, on Saturday. Four players are averaging in double-figures in scoring for UConn including guard Jerome Dyson who leads the team with 20.2 points per game. Stanley Robinson is averaging 17.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. The Huskies are a perfect 9-0 at home this season.

TOUGH STRETCH
Seton Hall is enduring a tough start to the BIG EAST schedule. Four of the Pirates first five opponents are ranked among the top 13 teams in the country. West Virginia was ranked #5 and Syracuse was ranked #6. The Pirates travel to UConn on Jan. 6 and they’re ranked #13, and they visit #12 Georgetown on Jan. 14. Seton Hall’s only non-ranked opponent during this stretch is Cincinnati, who is currently receiving votes. The Pirates host the Bearcats on Jan. 9.

PIRATES NOTCH FIRST BIG EAST WIN
Seton Hall snapped a four-game losing streak and picked up their first BIG EAST win of the season with an 83-76 victory over Cincinnati on Jan. 9. The Pirates used a 25-2 run late in the first half to turn a 12-point deficit into an 11-point lead. Seton Hall committed only one turnover in the first half and finished with just seven for the game. The Pirates shot an impressive 50.0% from the floor for the game and were a season-high 87.5% from the free-throw line (21-for-24).

AGAINST THE RANKED
Georgetown enters Thursday's game as the 11th-ranked team in the nation by both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Polls. To date, Seton Hall is only 3-6 all-time against teams ranked #11, but have won two of their last three. Their last win came on Feb. 14, 2006, a 71-64 victory over West Virginia at the Meadowlands. Overall, the Pirates are 64-207 all-time against Top-25 teams.

SWISHIN' AND DISHIN'
With 10 points and six assists vs. West Virginia on Dec. 26, senior Eugene Harvey became only the 19th player in Seton Hall history to record 1,400 career points. He also became only the fourth player with 500 career assists. Furthermore, he's only the third player with at least 1,400 career points and 500 career assists. Andre Barrett had 1,861 points and 662 assists, while Shaheen Holloway had 1,588 points and a career-record 681 assists.

GONZALEZ RECEIVES EXTENSION
Bobby Gonzalez has received a contract extension to remain the Pirates' men's basketball head coach through the 2014-15 season. "This extension serves as a strong indicator of the University's commitment and support for Bobby Gonzalez as head coach of our men's basketball program," Quinlan said. "We expect to be successful and believe that Coach Gonzalez has taken the necessary steps to position our program for future success.

Good Luck Pirates!
