Here's a sample of one thing he did. Speaking at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, he went on a rant about how much he hates transgender people. Then he put up a slide of a photo of a transgender student at that university and mocked her mercilessly, endangering her life. How is that pointing out hypocrisy?

To be clear, Yiannopoulos did not resign - nor was he forced to do so - because of fallout over any of his political statements or his perceived racism, anti-semitism, or homo/transphobia. Rather, it was a function of outrage over statements he made making light of pedophilia by Roman Catholic priests and his seeming endorsement of sexual relations between men and young boys. He describes himself as a gay man who was a victim of child abuse by older men, one of whom was a priest. If that is true, perhaps his preoccupation with conservative positions and blatant rejection of the rights of others who are social minorities may not be surprising. Reaction Formation, anyone?

Over the weekend, it was revealed that Yiannopoulos was invited to give a speech at the 2017 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the biggest mainstream conservative conference in America. Shortly after, the conservative website Reagan Battalion resurfacedvideo footage of Yiannopoulos defending the idea of “13 year olds” having sex with “older men,” referencing his own story that he benefited from a priest molesting him when he was a teenager.
“In the homosexual world, particularly, some of those relationships between younger boys and older men — the sort of ‘coming of age’ relationships — the relationships in which those older men help those young boys to discover who they are and give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable sort of rock,” Yiannopoulos said.
Children cannot consent to sexual relations with adults - ever. Milo also raises the ugly head that many conservatives love to chat about and that is the correlation between being a gay man and being a pedophile. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME yet many use gay men as demons to perpetuate this LIE that gay men are equal to pedophiles.
Milo is one of those gay men who have reached a level of acceptance and no longer feels the need to educate the masses and bury myths.

I detest Bill Maher. But regardless, just because Bill Maher says it's okay, does not make it so. And for Yiannopoulos to say it's okay for adult men (or women for that matter) to have sex with 13 year old boys is wrong and damaging.
