Is no one watching The People vs. O.J. Simpson?

I don't know whether it actually inspired him, but the details in the game Cochran used in his pep talk to OJ are correct.

We just watched the first 3 episodes and are really enjoying it. I was young-ish when it was all going on so there are some details that I don't remember or didn't ever know (like, I totally didn't connect that there were 2 white Broncos). I do remember people celebrating over the verdict. Very interesting to place all of that in today's racial context as well.

I'm finding it really compelling from a legal strategy standpoint. It's the same thing that's drawn me into a series like Making a Murderer.

I do agree that the Kardashian stuff is pretty heavy-handed. The scene with Robert and the kids at the diner - "fame doesn't matter, it's only important that you're a good person" was way over-the-top. But, I think Salma Hayek is doing a nice job as Kris. I think/hope that some of that will fade away now that they've thoroughly established the characters.

It's my understanding that FX has contracted to dive into one true American crime with the creators each year.

It's Selma Blair as Kris K, not Hayek.   grin

Just caught up with it earlier this a.m. and loved the tension b'twn Shapiro and Cochran.

The jury selection scene was pretty good as well. Marcia screwed that up big time.

Duh. Of course. I knew that didn't sound right oh oh

finally finished watching this last night after missing the final episode and having to wait two weeks for it to show up on demand. I found myself in tears when that verdict was read.

This was a powerful piece of television. Outstanding acting from all especially Sarah Paulson. A riveting examination of the justice system and how a prosecution and defense works. Highly recommend.

I agree completely. A really compelling look at this case!

My wife and I watched and enjoyed the whole thing, then promptly watched O.J. Simpson Trial: The Real Story on Investigation Discovery channel (ID) and found that unbelievably compelling.

I gave the first episode about a half hour and it was involving. The commercials soon drove me nuts and I picked up the remote, never to return to FX.

Yes, I hope it hits Netflix.

Read this morning that the series is up for an Emmy.

Probably a few for acting as well.

Nominations to be announced in July, no?

usually announced mid-July

While I am blown away by everyone's performances, Cuba is my least favorite and Sarah Paulson's Marcia Clark is simply astounding.    Travolta is wonderful but I don't recall Shapiro having that much of an exaggeration to his jaw/speech.

Sarah Paulson was phenomenal as was Courtney b Vance. Travolta was excellent as well. Schwimmer was very good in what could have been a silly role
