If the Yankee game was on, that scene would be pretty ugly.

Even Limousine Liberals can't afford to throw the drinks at the Fox and Falcon.

Not enough room at Town Hall Deli

"Limousine Liberals" was not my first thought.  More like Nerd Prom.

That was not the experiance of those of us campaigning for Warren yesterday in Maplewood.

 Glad to hear that.

While I agree that the AA vote will go for the Dem, the question is whether they’ll do it enthusiastically, as in a large turnout.

 Careful what you wish for....

I hate to agree with  Brett Stephens, but I fear that  fracking may be an issue that will give the vote to Trump in western Pa. I come from Indiana, Pa., a university town which is the county seat. Historically, the coal business was the largest industry in Indiana county. The county was really in bad shape because of the downturn in the coal industry. The Marcellus shale runs under Indiana county and has really been a boon to the county - not just for the workers employed in the natural gas industry but for all of the businesses which depend on the economic well-being of the residents in the county.

Historically, Indiana county voted Democratic and voted Democratic in the presidential elections before 2016. In 2016, Indiana county voted for Trump by over a 2-1 margin (66% v. 30%)

I really don't see any reason for this to change in 2020.

eta - I just checked the voting results in Pa. in 2016. Trump won Pa. by 68,239 votes. He won Indiana county by 13.452 votes. Indiana co.  isn't a large county and accounted for almost 20% of the Trump margin in 2016.

Bret Stephens is the bedbug guy, right?

I try not go into your thread and link nonsense. I read that column. My response is that the Democratic Party should not have its goal as nominating someone for whom Mr. Staples would vote. If he or you or anyone thinks 4 more years of mendacity, cynicism, chaos and corruption is preferable to 4 years of Elizabeth Warren pushing "progressive goals" and most likely settling for far more modest results while maintaining some level of competence and civility than such person can vote for Trump or abstain.

I would vote for the furthest "left" or furthest "right" Democrat over Trump. In fact I would vote for Mitt Romney or just about any non-Trump Republican over Trump if that were my only choice.

He's more of a louse, in my opinion.

Hi,

Any Warren supporters who have a little time (or even more than a little) to assist the campaign please private message me. Thanks.

Never let it be said that we do not value the input of Citizen Ridski,

Next event, Dec 19-Pre-Debate Cocktail Hour at Toro Loco

And a happy "Nevertheless, She Persisted" Day to all.

I really do believe that she’d be the one to revive the race a bit for the Dems. Plenty of energy to carry some of the load once the campaign restarts.

I love Warren, but I'd really hate to lose her Senate seat to a Repub.

Understood, but the Mass Guv has to schedule a special election within 145-160 days.

I guess the calculus is how confident the party is of winning in November without trying to bring along the Progressives.

I just found this picture and thought I would leave it here in case we need to make lawn signs.

Lord, I hope not, unless we're honestly counting on Biden sunsetting or dying.

My money's still on Tammy Duckworth for VP and Senator Warren for Senate Majority Leader, but I know that would end up being Schumer.

that's as bad as Biden being Prez.

We may be the only two supporting Duckworth. Being Majority Leader can be limiting. Rather than pushing your own agenda you have to be always building consensus.

Only for a Democrat.  For the Republican who has that job now, his caucus is a bunch of ******* sheep who follow his sociopathic agenda to the letter.

Warren alert! She will be interviewed on Rachel Maddow tonight at 9 on MSNBC.

I have also posted on Animal Rights Animal Wrongs that she has signed onto Cory Booker's bill to curtail factory farming by 2040. It is less about humane legislation and more about big corporations dominating agribusiness. Ro Khanna is presenting a companion bill in the House.
