Hillary for President

Maybe Frida to the left of your picture threw Mr/Ms Klinker off ...

[Edited to add]  Tried to fix quote, and it keeps getting worse with each try.

He? They?

I couldn't remember your gender. Could you clarify?
I was going to make a funny remark about gender fluidity but couldn't make it work. Then I realized that with "Mr" in my screen name, it should be apparent.

Weird.  I thought I remembered something from way back about you being a woman which would be strange given the name and the tone of the posts.  Sorry about that.  Its so easy (and perhaps unavoidable) to give offense when expressing opinions I didn't want to give extra offense because my memory sucks.
As for Cuomo, a team of scientists at Rockefeller actually ran him through their full body nuclear douche-o-meter and they got a reading of 94.5 so, yes, he has been certified. That and his absurd campaign to sabotage Bill de Blasio.

ETA: ARGH!!!! Quote function is still going totally hay wire (thus the italics).  Is anyone else having this problem????

Maybe you are thinking about big_ben who is in fact a woman. She derived the name from the clock.

No offense taken at all, for any of your posts. Good to dialogue, if I may use that word as a verb. And yes, now I realize that with Frida Kahlo as my avatar, it could be confusing. Truth is, I like Frida, her persona, her art, etc. and had forgotten that was my avatar.

And it's good to know about the full-body douche-o-meter. That nails it down for me.

Unless, of course, you’re a woman who bears a resemblance to Mr T, only more soulful.

Was chatting with a friend tonight and I shared with her the Washington Post link from above with the 15 Top Democrats for 2020.   She said her pick for the 2020 nom was...

...  Michael Bloomberg.

Discuss.

Are we forgetting that Bloomberg switched from Democrat to Republican to Independent?

Not at all. I don't think that makes him a bad candidate. It may not be viewed favorably by some parts of the electorate but as a candidate, as a politician, as an ethical, responsible person, a progressive on many issues, he's attractive to me.

He would struggle to get past the lunatic fringe that shows up for the primaries.  He's not Roy Moore enough for the Right and not Bernie Sanders enough for the Left.

None of Comey's remarks impressed me as much as his desire to resist impeachment so that we may be forced to acknowledge our responsibility and vote the bastard(s) out - Senate, House, and then the disease at the top. Whatever Hillary's flaws, who would've preferred the international embarrassment we elected?

About 40% of all Americans and 80% of Republicans, according to the polls.

I can't imagine that Bloomberg would attract much interest outside the NYC Metro area.  As for me, I would like the opportunity to vote for a member of the Democrat wing of the Democrat party for once.  Enough of these corporate tools.

ETA: Of course, Bloomberg is not a tool of the mega corps, he IS a mega corp.

He'll be 78 years old on Election Day.

A candidate would have to be pretty astounding for me to vote for them if they are over 75.  My preference would be someone under 60.  The Boomers have had their turn and, looking around, they have done a piss poor job. Time for new blood.

He also is a billionaire from New York. I highly doubt that people would want to try that again.

And he's a "globalist."

I voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Now I want her to slink away and stay quiet and not come back.

Point of fact: the youngest boomers are in their early 50s.

aren't we done with megalomaniacal billionaires for president?

That's not my definition of Boomers.

Comey was just on Fresh Air with Terry Gross. I caught nearly the entire thing on my drive from NYC. Interesting stuff.

LOST what is your definition of "boomer" and why is it more valid than the typically accepted sociological definition?

Shouldn't they be 54 and older?

As someone who is 50, 54 meets my definition of "early 50s". shut eye

on the subject of Hillary,

Interesting piece pointing out how the voter ID law worked in Wisconsin so as to probably be a major factor in throwing the state to Trump.

https://www.motherjones.com/po...

mandatory mention of how Trump's claims of a rigged election were correct, in that it was rigged for him.

I wasn't aware of the formal definition but I was thinking of the generation that brought us the Grateful Dead and the Moral Majority.  Folks in their early 50s seem more like Gen X and less like  Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.  Perhaps a sort of bridge between the two.

This.

I think the dem ticket has to include a woman.  That moment needs to happen.

Agreed. As the protest signs say, the future is female. And it is.

I barely make the Gen X cutoff at 50.
