Voice, Singing Lessons

I have been training singers for over 30 years, and work with Youth through Adults.

In addition to expertise in Classical *and* Contemporary (Pop, Rock, Gospel, Musical Theatre) voice techniques, and training NEA Jazz Master and MacArthur Genius Grant awardee Anthony Braxton's language system of musical improvisation, I am also a skilled trainer for transgender clients, assisting in the re-modulation of their speaking and singing voices. Having grown up speaking with a stutter, and much later being diagnosed with tongue tie, I came to singing as a child in part to find greater fluency and confidence speaking aloud. As a result of this, I am keenly attuned to--and skilled in a variety of means to--attend to the needs of the anxious, tense, or speech impeded student, as well as those who have been left frustrated by past singing instruction.
