xfinity?

Does anyone use them? I keep getting mail from them, they show up on my cell phone as available wifi and they are much cheaper than FIOS, $89 for triple play and possibly a $250 credit when you sign up. Any thoughts?

Verizon offers an $89 triple play as well.

only if you're a new customer with a 2 year contract. It also doesn't include DVR, extra cable boxes, the router, the ability to watch the DVR in all rooms, etc.

You can get the triple-play as an existing customer. We did it recently.

@skadave...how did you do that. Our plan just expired and they are charging us $119.

I can't recall what i did recently, but in the past I have told them that I was considering leaving if they could not match the $89 price.

I have also been told that you can try to speak to the "Retention Department" and they can help.

Yes, I remember the thread where many MOLers were getting these great deals. I only got the promise of one and then a confirmation of triple the price they initially offered. And that was from the retention department! Now I get to dump them -- and am going with Xfinity in my new home.

so, i call xfinity to get a better rate... I can get one and save money, BUT, I have to agree to the plan for 2 years, and if I move and Comcast is not in the area, I still have to pay!

If Verizon didn't screw up so badly I would consider them

I would question that with the BPU. If you move and the cable company is not in the area, they cannot hold you to a contract that you have no way of fulfilling. Even creepy Verizon honors that.
