I don’t know if this is it, but the upraised edge looks like it would be handy if you were sliding this under, say, a biscuit or a tart or some other small round serving of something.
Unless you’re lefthanded.
That would be perfect for slicing off and serving a slice from a cylinder of canned cranberry sauce.
