Installed a VPN on my iPhone months ago. All's well except for the fact that each time the phone "sleeps" and I unlock it, the VPN takes forever to engage. My wifi is always on but not VPN. Sometimes I have to turn wifi off, turn VPN off and turn all on again for VPN to connect. It doesn't always work; so I sit and wait for VPN icon to appear.
I've read there's a fix for this (complicated (to me!) and just works with jailbreak phones). The other fix isn't really a fix for me and that is not having the phone lock after x amount of seconds/minutes of non-use. I've tried that method and although the VPN stays connected, I don't wish to walk around with my phone unlocked.
Is there a way to get around this issue of having VPN stay connected and still being able to lock my phone for security? Non complicated, if possible?
