Virus message pop up on my mac

This pop up looks like an official apple message. It says I am getting this message because of malware. Call 862 number. I get a heavy Indian accent with lots of noise in background. I hung up because I couldn't understand half of what he was saying. Anyone here ever have this experience

Okay, we figured it out. It was a scam, which I thought. Hubby went on his computer and looked it up. This was different because I couldn't get rid of it. I did call the number, but when the guy said they were taking care of software problems for Microsoft and Apple, I was suspicious. Ugh....
