There are third party resellers which are often cheaper and there is T Mobile.

Metro PCS (owned by T-mobile), Walmart ' straight talk wireless, cricket, boost mobile, virgin mobile. No idea about quality, but if you don't use a phone very much, freedom pop is free.

Hi all - apologies if this has been covered - what are the options OTHER THAN Verizon/AT&T/Sprint for mostly cell phone coverage with a family plan, two phones? Are there any other options other than these monopolies? Excuse me if this has been covered, I couldn't find an earlier thread.
