UPS Backup Question

Have 2 UPS Backups in home office. They both are ‘beeping’, and the more advanced one is elling me it’s running on battery, but everything in the house has power.  Could it be related to yesterday’s power outage?

Do they have reset buttons?

Speaking of UPS's, I went to Best Buy to buy one a couple of years ago, and I couldn't find one salesperson who knew that UPS meant uninterruptible power supply. They thought I was talking about the delivery company.

Yes, at least one of them does. The weird thing is that the one that has a ‘screen’ keeps changing from “online”, to “on battery “

Have you independently tested the power source that keeps them charged?

UPS as a term is falling out of use, at least in the consumer realm. Now people call it a battery backup.

I'd bet the beeping is not saying that you're on battery power but that the battery isn't charging well. It's time to change the battery.

Speaking of these things, I have one I am willing to give away. I will be in your area this week. I'm pretty sure it's this unit. It needs a new battery. I decided I don't want to use one anymore. It's a small unit, rated at 500va (300 watts).

I should have posted that the issue went away. I believe it had to do with the power outage of the day before, which, while we never lost power again, the lights were very dim, once that issue stopped the UPS issue stopped as well

Aha, so the error message was right. Your house voltage must have been low or wavering.
