Griswold is the contraception case.
Lawrence made it unconstitutional to criminalize homosexuality.
Obergefell is marriage equality.

There was no need for Thomas to put that in the decision.

He messaged bring us cases affecting the above. He just can't wait to correct past "mistakes."

Who would have known that Thomas shows as the leading light in this SC, possibly affecting a generation.

Is it likely that his decisions are handed to him by the Federalist Society via Ginni?

Remains to be seen.  It wasn't a recognized right at the time the Bill of Rights (or 14th? Amendment) was passed, was it?

As a side thought, does anyone ever consider that the reason why some personal or medical issues weren't enumerated as rights, is that no one at the time imagined the government had any business at all opining in those areas?

Clarence Thomas thinks the court should reconsider Griswold vs Connecticut. 

Contraception is in jeopardy.

Did you actually read the majority opinion?  Where Alito states: "Roe was egregiously wrong from the start. Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences."  Roe was based upon a line of cases going to back to, you guessed it, Griswold, which relied on a right to privacy.  Basically, the right of a consenting adult to act independently - that thing that libertarians purport to crave.

How about this part:  "The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly  protected by any constitutional provision, including the one on which the defenders of Roe and Casey now chiefly rely—the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. That provision has been held to guarantee some rights that are not mentioned in the Constitution, but any such right must be “deeply  rooted in this Nation’s history and tradition” and “implicit in the concept of ordered liberty.”  Well, I checked - couldn't find the word "contraception" in there, either.  I also don't recall from my study of history that the birth control pill was even available in 1776 (or 1787 or 1791, depending upon which date Clarence Thomas deems relevant).  Guess chastity belts will be back in vogue.

The "Forced Birth Movement".  This is excellent.  As has been noted everywhere, the "Pro Life" with its penchant for supporting the death penalty is a literal contradiction in terms.  Forced Birth Movement is not only more resonant, it is much more accurate.

Words have meaning. How you use and choose them can be more effective an argument's logic.

I saw pro choice protestors shouting "pro-abortion". I saw use of "anti-abortion."

Those who are pro choice should adopt "Pro Choice" language and signage while labeling their opposition as "Forced Birthers." Confront "Forced Birthers" by shouting as such to them. 

Anti-abortion is the messaging into the public's mind of the we're saving babies from those abortionists. Forced birth is a messaging of women being forced to give birth.

Where in the Constitution does it say that their is a "right to marry"? If  State enacts a law making it a crime, as it once was in many States, for people of different races to marry how would "Justice" Thomas vote?

Another thought: Thomas is the most significant legacy of President George H.W. Bush who everyone thinks was a great guy.

Lots of confusing statements from Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem on Face the Nation about the abortion pill. She insists it needs to be administered under a doctor's supervision but does not suggest that SD will allow it. Margaret Brennan was at a disadvantage with Gov. Noem not being in the studio which allowed her to continue to speak over Brennan's questions. Brennan raised the issue of privacy protections involving mail but hey, privacy does not seem to be on the menu.

It does look horrible for him. I was discussing it with a friend and it segued into a conversation about whether or not Biden will be challenged in the next election by another Dem. I could see it happening. Not sure if a challenger would be successful but the idea of him not running again appeals to me.

I don't say that with any malice, just not seeing him as a two term president.

Biden hasn't been a bargain. He did push Clarence Thomas though his judiciary hearings.

rtrent's point, which I agree with, is that Biden's response didn't seem to have a lot of urgency to it. They've known for some time Roe was a goner and yet it was like they were caught flat-footed. There is no reason on earth that they didn't have a response ready the day the decision was announced.

the abortion questioning was clearly harassment, but that's not why she was deported.


Understand what you’re saying, however she had completed the other required paperwork and the correct visa, pre-printed which was suddenly deemed unsuitable. (This is not uncommon for southern hemisphere travellers).

As you say, the personal questions were highly inappropriate and were designed to intimidate.
