Dr. Perez at West Orange Animal Hospital removed our dog's tumor a few years ago. She's very straight forward and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. Good luck!
You may not need this level of expertise, but a lot of tough cases get referred to this guy:
Dr. Adelsohn. She is an excellent surgeon. http://www.communityanimalhosp.com/about-us/veterinarians.html
I've always trusted Dr. Philip Frezzo at the Animal Clinic of Bayonne (201-437-6666). He is excellent - been in practice for years & has diagnosed/treated some complicated/unusual illnesses (including surgeries). Being an animal rescuer, I have taken a LOT of animals to him throughout the years. Good luck!
I like Dr. Borut at Westfield Veterinary Group, he removed a soft tissue sarcoma from my old blind dog's neck/shoulder area in December. Great people there, the surgery and recovery went smoothly, and he is fine now.

My dog has a mast cell tumor on his neck. Can anyone recommend an excellent surgeon?
