Sick deer

I saw a sick buck on Wyoming Avenue last night.  If was standing in the road with its tongue lolling out of the side of its mouth and was not quick to get out of the way.  I was lucky I wasn't going fast.  It was kind of sad.  A quick search of the DEP website list hemorrhagic fever as one possible cause.  The symptoms match CWD, too, but that has not yet been reported in New Jersey.

What part of Wyoming?

We had an incident where a very aggressive buck gored and killed a dog. We’re between Wyoming and Ridgewood.

Trying to be hopeful, since it is rutting season and they are very distracted. I'm on Blanchard off Wyoming and there are a few bucks, one looks like a 300 lb boy that spends every day in my yard. Hopefully just dazed from an accident. A few younger males are wrestling.

Wyoming Ave near Glenn Ave. The buck seemed to be a bit disoriented.
