Russ Feingold
I knew Russ a bit when he was an attorney in Wisconsin at Foley and Lardner, representing the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority on bond issues. He was one of the most decent people I ever met (and a pretty good basketball player!). Later, when he was Senator Feingold, he remained a decent, humble, funny, and caring person. You would never have known he was a US Senator.
