Not even Trump believes his arguments -- he's just trying to delay the trial.
Meanwhile, off the beach, folks are looking at the “sitting president” and perhaps thinking how to clear the ballot, dump unpopular Kamala, and entice, Mrs Obama to step into the Democratic void? Big question, of course, is who would be her running mate.

What "folks"? The race will be Biden and Donnyboy.

can you name the names of the "folks" who are trying to entice Michelle Obama to run for president?

There is a buzz, no doubt.
That's a buzz? Most of the claims for her to run are from last March/April. Is Sarah Palin claiming she will run a buzz?
my hearing aides are in fine working order, Jamie, thanks for your concern for my health.
Michelle Obama saying "she's concerned" has ZERO to do with her running.
And then you have "commentators say" she wants to run - these are primarily FOX type personalities. So, it a fake buzz. Probably put out there to motivate all the Obama haters in the Fox crowd.
After all - your leader still believes that Obama isn't a US citizen as do a large swath of the MAGA army.
Did the "MAGA Signal" go out, that any substantive discussion of Trump outrages requires an immediate intervention with hate-speech-derived garbage?

99-1/2 percent of comments here are anti-Trump — actually bordering in some cases as derangement. I have read far more “hate-speech-derived garbage” thrown at Trump than at the Biden administration or his family. No contest in MOLand.
Whatever happened to the discussion of current events here? Just recently a comment was offered that cartoons somehow deflect words to the detriment of MOL. But I believe that some posters — a handful perhaps — who shy away from joining in because of fear that vitriol will hit them if they have a different take on an issue.
We here are privileged to be in America and need to respect fellow Americans who have an opposing opinion. An added privilege for me was to live in Maplewood for 47 years and raise four children. The kids grew up watching both parents serve their community as active civic and school volunteers.
How in the world will America treat the new generations of migrants coming from so widely dispersed regions of the world — simultaneously — over a relatively short span of time? When fellow Americans from, for one example, Iowa, many of whom are multi- generational citizens, get dissed for even considering Trump, who seems, from their perspective, to listen or relate to them — I wonder how America’s “melting pot” image will fare?
Scary scenario.
@ Nohero, MAGA is not a racist slur. It means Make America Great Again, but you surely you must know that.

A “current event” was being discussed here, and you deliberately derailed the discussion with garbage that was not related to that discussion.
You’re exemplifying the GOP strategy.
Trump and his supporters seek to end our constitutional democracy. I can't think of any topic more meriting of constant, focused attention.

WTAF are you talking about?

You may recall Trumps comments about immigrants with brown skin - bad hombres I think he called them.
Do recall what Chris Christie said about Trump when he suspended his campaign last night. Here's part of it.
He continued, “And I can promise you this — if you put him back behind the desk in the Oval Office and the choice comes and a decision is needed to be made as to whether he puts himself first or he puts you first. How much more evidence do you need? He will pick himself.”
Chris Christie is speaking from the heart here. Unfortunately, he sold his soul on the altar of Trump for the sake of political ambition.
There’s so much more to think about should trumpenstein get a second term. It would probably throw the world into turmoil. NATO will be gone, and that’s just for starters. This election is looking to be even more important than the last one. It’s like a terrible dream.
Leaving NATO would require a 2/3 Senate vote.

Respect for fellow Americans? Is there a clearer example of the extreme contempt Republicans have for their fellow Americans than Trump's attempt to nullify their votes? And how have Republicans like your reacted? You dismiss and attack any and all attempts to hold Trump responsible and make him your presumed presidential nominee.

As an immigrant, who understands what a privilege it is to live in America...
If you're born here, it's not a privilege, it's a birthright.
Unless you're saying that just EXISTING in America means you're privileged, because we all know that ain't true.
For a bit of fun for the wordsmiths here, there is this from the WSJ today. There is a test at the end — no cheating at a game both Republicans and Democrats can play nicely.

it's a slur against our country.
what, we're not a great country?
I see none of you wordsmiths took the challenge! I supposed there was some concern that I didn’t post in the Rose Garden thread. It perhaps made some folks nervous, suspecting a trap of some sort? Or, perhaps, you flunked the test?
Anyhow, Jamie and I had a good conversation for going for awhile, until TDS took over predictably.
Oh, BTW @tjohn, when John Wayne called folks “hombres” he was calling them men in Spanish — it is not a slur. It could be taken ominously, however, if Wayne was holding a six-shooter!

Another topic that I think warrants it's own thread.
T***** lawyers pretty much argued the President Biden could order Seal Team Six to take out Donny and it would be fine as long as he wasn't impeached over it.
Here's the definition from Wiki:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_immunity_in_the_United_States
The president of the United States enjoys absolute immunity from many lawsuits while in office; it is legally untested whether they also enjoy criminal immunity from arrest or prosecution. Neither civil nor criminal immunity is explicitly granted in the Constitution or any federal statute.
So, this brings in absolute immunity:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_immunity
Absolute applies - when in office. This is why Mitch said that Donny could be held accountable once he left office.
