That Mando is in another world. To make things fair, the other pole vaulters should be able to throw water balloons at him during his attempts.
I’ve enjoyed a lot of events so far. Mrs Incredible is big into gymnastics so that’s been fun. The surprise revision of Jordan Chiles’ score this morning so she won the bronze was a stunner. I am also amazed by Laurie Hernandez’ commentary. She has no business being that good at the age of 24, and she has no business being so darned adorable.
I have a Peacock subscription so we’re able to watch a lot of different events and I love that I can get drawn into almost any event. Women’s skeet? Riveting. Kayak Slalom? My new favorite sport!!
The variety is great! Like mrincredible - I too can get sucked into whatever is on at the moment. Volleyball, badminton, table tennis, kayak, handball, gymnastics, track, judo. Even the golf was pretty incredible. Not too much into swimming. Field hockey is a bit boring.
So far my two favorite moments
Turkish shooter with his hand in his pocket!
Simone and Jordan bowing to the winning Brazilian!
How about that mixed gender relay race? I didn't know it existed and couldn't figure out what was going on.

I think this is maybe the second Olympics with it? Both the track and swimming mixed relays were incredibly exciting. Femke Bol choosing to run the anchor leg for the Dutch and completing such an amazing comeback might lead more A-level athletes to run it next time.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone grew up in little Dunellen, NJ She went to Union Catholic HS. As a graduate of Dunellen HS and on the track team, I am proud to think that she could have been running on the same track that I did in HS. One thing about that Dunellen track is that when you came around the far curve, on many days you would hit a strong NW wind. Many runners simply wilted in this strong headwind. But I like to think that this hard wind made Sydney a stronger runner. The 400 meters and even more so the 400 meter hurdles is one of the most physically difficult of all the races. You need to sprint like a 100 or 200 meter race, but you need to do it for 400 meters.
Added thought. The hill at Floods Hill is often used by the Columbia HS track team. Running up this hill probably makes them stronger runners.
The women’s 4x400 relay: I haven’t seen a mile that lopsided since Secretariat at the Derby.
Correction: The Belmont.
Today’s soccer match between the USA and Brazil was a bit of a nail-biter. I saw the one Brazil goal that was nullified for the offsides call. Phew.
A new neighbor in South Orange is on the team and now a gold medalist! Tierna Davidson, a defender on the NY/NJ Gotham FC, is also on the USWNT and played in today’s game.

I just watched the replay. Unreal.

Steph Curry is ridiculous.
It's some form of telekinesis.

Former Columbia coach Lisa Morgan coached Sydney and her brother on the Junior Olympics team and I know she ran in an event at Underhill at least once.

What does punching Winnie the Pooh mean?
Does anybody now whether the IOC has the authority to bar an athlete from future games, because the athlete kept a medal awarded, but which was later determined to be improperly awarded?
Just wondering what happens if Ms. Chiles decides to hang the medal on her wall, and remind herself, from time to time, that she had the superior performance.
Thanks for any help.

SEVEN Olympic Medal winners play right here in Harrison for Gotham FC. That's 6 for USA(gold) and one for Germany(bronze). Next home game is 2:30pm Saturday vs Portland. This will be the first game the Olympic players return to the field. See you all there!
