I appreciate recommendations for a company/individual to balance the four legs of an almost new GE washing m achine. Machine got unbalanced after being moved during a basement cleaning job.

If one leg is too short and the machine shakes you can 1.  Find a flatter spot, 2. Adjust the leg screws at the bottom, 3.  Fold up and place a washcloth under the short leg and use it to stop the shaking.

Thank you Robert. I need a  person to do this because of a recent fracture.

The appliance repair companies charge between 90 and 130 just to come to the house.

I recently had to move my washing machine due to work in the basement and will soon put it back into the right spot.  In the meantime, it was out of balance.  This was cured by simply folding up a wash cloth and putting it under the too-short leg corner.  No special skill was needed and it worked just right and no shaking.  So, if your fracture is not too disabling, this is an easy interim fix method.

I would guess a local handyman could do this for a reasonable cost.

I can get it sorted for you.

Thank you for your responses. I will try this week-end Mr. Roe's suggestion and use the wash cloth under the short leg of the washing machine and hope that it works until I find a handyman to adjust the leg. I greatly appreciate recommendations for a local handyman. Thank you again.

Peter Wick just offered to help…

Cresida81 may not be local.  If they are, I  agree that Peter would be able to do this.

Mr. Wick thank you for your offer of help. I was able to adjust the legs yesterday and the washing machine is no longer shaking.
