Star Wars Holiday show - worst TV Special ever?

I was reminded about this show over the weekend.  Lucas tried to bury it from ever being shown again - but it does still live on YouTube.  It is pretty incredible as to how bad it is:

"Phantom Menace" still tops the "worst" list, though ...

I wonder had George Lucas just left it alone if it would have just faded into a much more distant memory.  Part of the mystique was his efforts to completely erase it from the public eye.  Used to be you could only see it on a bootleg VHS, usually only available at obscure nerd conventions.

Otherwise it might just be something that every Star Wars fan has on a Special Features disc on their digitally remastered Blu-ray copy of the theatrical release versions of the original trilogy (looking at you again, Lucas).  And therefore ignored.

There's a reasonable underlying plot line in Phantom Menace.  I think with a little more time, a little less CGI and someone saying "George, gotta rework these accents.  I don't think you're thinking it through" it might have been a little less cringeworthy.

We're marching through the prequel trilogy with my daughter now (she deserves to know the whole truth) and I'm gonna say "Attack of the Clones" goes back and forth between a pretty decent Star Wars story (Obi-Wan's pursuit of Jango Fett and investigating the Clone Army) and the almost unwatchable "romance" between Anakin and Padme.

Okay, sorry this thread isn't about that. But I saw an opening.
