South Orange residence looking for a local and reliable handyman for kitchen appliance repair

Need handyman to swap out defective oven igniter with new igniter supplied by customer. Appliance is a GE Profile gas range. Thank you.

Norman's Appliance 973-564-9050.

Period.

Great guy. Straight shooter. Reasonably priced.

Give Yvey's Appliance Repair a call 973-474-6220.  He repaired our gas dryer and washer in our Maplewood home.

Just a word of warning. Norman diagnosed and replaced the igniter in our oven. It took a very long time though.

Diagnosis on December 27th, actual repair on January 12th.

Not his fault though. Many replacement parts are on backorder. It seemed to take forever and Ms. bikefixed was getting angry with the lack of updates. I suppose he might be swamped with such situations so patience might be needed no matter who you go with. He wasn't calling us with updates on why we weren't getting it fixed and I had to smooth Ms. bikefixed's feathers. A lot. ;-)

I had a wonderfully positive experience with Norman's Appliance. I left a phone message with make, model, and most likely problem with an appliance at 9 am on Monday morning and the repair was completed by 2:30 pm the same day.  (He arrived at 2 pm).  Cost was very reasonable too.  Highly recommend.

Inquiries about handymen come up pretty often on MOL.  You can use the Search function to find them.

I did it on my range a few years ago. It's an eazy DIY job.

Thank you for your response. I purchased a replacement igniter on Amazon and, taking my time and with the help of some YouTube videos, successfully installed. DML

Thank you for your response. With help from YouTube videos was successful in swapping out igniter. That said, I've heard good things re: Norman's Appliance and will keep him in mind for the future.
