If you're in Maplewood, call Bob Mittermaier at Town Hall. I don't think you need a permit, but you do have to follow setbacks. We bought ours at Al's Shed World (Florham Park Hardware). Agway in Morristown had a nice selection too.
Anything larger than 10 x 10 [100 sq ft] needs footings which in turns needs permits/inspections. 8x12 is probably as large as you can go without.

we want to put a shed in new backyard. has to fit 4 bikes (amongst other stuff). i think we have to apply for a permit (?) for that. if so, i imagine it is not a big deal?? any tips on this? we'd love to do it ourselves if possible. any and all advice from permits to what/where-to-buy to install would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
