Replacing Inspection Sticker on Windshield

A family member had to replace the windshield on their car due to a crack caused by a rock hitting the windshield.  Now their inspection sticker won't adhere to the new windshield.  Any suggestion as to what they can use to make it stick?  Family member does not want to use glue for fear that they would not be able to remove the sticker when it came time to get the car inspected again.  Please advise so I can pass the information on to them.  TIA

Clear packing tape could work as a short term solution. Or maybe laminate it and secure it to the dash or windshield with said packing tape.

whoever replaced the windshield should have stuck it back on the new one. You can use glue, the inspector at dmv has a powerful scraper that removes everything off the glass. It’s not an issue.

Thank you both.  I will pass these suggestions on to my family member.
