Recycling

Is there recycling tomorrow, Friday or Saturday.

Thanks for the correction!

Oh well, will take it back in in the AM.

I'm just leaving mine out for tomorrow!

It says Friday in the Gaslight and Saturday online so who knows! I'm leaving mine out.

From seeing all of the recycling toters out this morning, it seems that many people use the Gaslight for info instead of the website. This is a link to the "South Orange Engage" section of the website which asks residents what medium they use to receive information from the Village. The website is far down the list for most of the residents who responded. The Gaslight is higher on the priority list of respondents.

btw - We're paying $5000/year for "Peak Democracy " and at least based on experience so far, it doesn't seem that it's worth it.The trustees (I guess I'll have to get used to referring to them as council members) said at the time when it was being discussed that it was being on a trial basis.

eta - No doubt many residents looked out and saw that their neighbors put toters out and assumed that today was the day.

I saw Giordano, the recycling contractor, picking-up recycling in Millburn this morning. I realized that Giordano has their regular schedule and because they have several other towns on their Friday schedule, they had to do South Orange and the other towns normally scheduled for Thursday pick-up on Saturday. But yes, they should have known, if in fact they gave SO the schedule.

Mine is staying out. The notice originally said Friday, did it not?

It's a complete waste of money and Torpey bound us to a 3 year contract for $5000/year, which appears to expire at the end of this year.

Looks like the final vote on the decision to change the BOT Titles is on the agenda for Monday, after having a 3-3 tie on First Reading, with Sheena casting the 4th vote.
