Recommendation for an electrician or interior lighting contractor?

I have an ancient fluorescent fixture that has bitten the dust. It's built into some sort of wooden box apparently installed in the Truman administration, so it's not an easy swap and I think I may need the whole mess replaced and modernized.

Anyone able to suggest a good electrician type who would do such a thing?

Thanks in advance.

Highly recommend Superior Wirework, 973-713-5345. Ask for the owner, Dan. P.S. Love your description of your light and its age!

Once you have it removed, relabel it mid century modern and sell it.

I've used both Brian Stromko (973) 762-6639 and Allstate Electrical (Mario Bratt 973 689 2753 ), both did excellent work.

I found Stacey Electric to be very expensive compared to the other electricians, however, many people swear by them.

Another vote for Brian Stromko who is my neighbor in Maplewood and has been taking care of our electrical needs since we moved into our house over 20 years ago.  His son is now in the business with him also.

Just had a great experience with Brian Stromko.  Told me that my current box was sufficient for proposed kitchen upgrade.  Didn't try to sell me something I didn't need.  Thank you Brian!

Would like to add to this conversation to be helpful.  Freddie Avivi - 908 943 2210, also great - reasonable prices, great work.

I also recently reached out Stromko 3 times (left 3 messages) for a quote on work with no return call.  Kinda weird.
