Newark 5 AM Monday Flight Terminal A

Anyone ever fly out of terminal A on a 5:00 AM flight? Was wondering how crowded it is / how bad security lines are. Am thinking arriving terminal at 4:15 with no bags to check is sufficient, but any guidance is welcome.

Just realized the date of travel is also Columbus Day - wonder if that affects anything. Yes, please send me the local early guy info.

could lessen the load, since it's a banking holiday, for some unknown reason.

Also, it is about 50/50 whether there will be a TSA PreCheck line before 6am.

Things at EWR, as others are suggesting, are *** backwards for the last 6 months or so. Seemingly off hours are a hot mess and busy hours.... are a hot mess. Get Global Entry or TSA Pre pronto if you fly more than one or two times a year.

Many times Pre-check doesn't even help at Terminal A, because it's the same line (they give you a card that allows you to leave your shoes on, but you still have to take out your laptop, and wait with everyone else). Half-*** Pre-check.
