New York Football Giants

Nice win tonight over Cincy. Nice halftime honoring Coughlin, Tuck and Accorsi. Nice night at MetLife all around.

Being able to generate a pass rush in the fourth quarter makes all of the difference.

I went to bed just after that 3rd quarter Cincy TD, convinced we were done. Good to see we held up a scrap to win it!

they are likely going by +/-, and the Giants have a -2. Which is kind of silly of them because yes, the Giants have won 6 close games, but it's not as though they were lucky in any of them. They didn't win any because an opponent missed a chip shot field goal, or because they got a favorable referee's call. Most of them required them to finish out a close game with their defense.

But last night was fun for me. My Giants won, and the winning TD was scored by Sterling Shepard, with the points providing the winning margin for my fantasy matchup grin

What difference does it make?

Can anyone explain how the Eagles rise 10 spots and the Giants fall four? Is it ESPWentz now?

None whatsoever. Just a puzzlement, is all.

they overlooked the fact that the Giants have the second highest "strength of victory" at .546. (Only the Bears, with only two wins are higher at .556). Overall, the Giants have had the fifth toughest schedule in the NFL so far this season.

Collins again! Eli has been money on 3rd (and 4th) down. Got away with a couple of near-picks today.

Agree. And JPP, Vernon, Harrison and Hankins starting to come together as a unit.

Eli looked more skittish than usual. Bad O-line is taking it's toll.

The Oline has been trash for years. Even the 2012 SB O Line was not good. Eli deserves a ton of credit for that SB run. Mackenzie was a turnstile.

Handing the Cowboys their second loss of the season, both by Big Blue, is sweet as

Always did make a Monday morning going back to work day more tolerable

Train: I love you, but ... Despite their record, I think the Giants are an incredibly mediocre team.

mebbe, but you can't discount the fact they beat the Cowboys twice.

That may very well be -- I haven't boasted. Just reveled (the T.O. photo) in beating Dallas, while the opportunity presented itself.

p.s. Nice having you visit, and I always respect your opinion. That'll be a one-day suspension, my friend. ;-)

the Giants have a very good defense. They have a mediocre offensive line.

The Giants also tend to go on epic winning streaks at exactly the right time - late season and in the playoffs. I'm feeling pretty optimistic for post season games this year. The cherry on top would be to steal the division from the 'boys.

No great team in the NFL this year. A lot of teams can win. Manning has played lousy since the last super bowl. Most over-rated qb in football right now. Offensive line is weak. Giants can win mostly because there is no dominating team and beckham is a game changer.

They don't award the Vince Lombardi Trophy based on who puts together the best overall body of work from September through February. You put yourself in position and then hope to make a run. We'll see if the team has what it takes to do so again.

Eli has averaged over 4,000 yards and 27 touchdowns per season since the 2012 Super Bowl win. He did have a bad season in 2013, probably the worst of his career since his rookie season. Otherwise, he has been a good quarterbook (not great). The Giants had a pretty good offense in 2014 & 2015 but the defense sucked.

Eli will always make mistakes. The flip side is he knows how to move the ball when the chips are down.

The defense if rounding into playoff shape. But the O Line is not. And without that I do not see how they can go deep in the playoffs.

Flowers MUST be benched, if for no other reason than to give him a wake up call. Put Beatty in, he can't be any worse, hell, I couldn't be any worse and I'm a senior citizen.
