Melania demonstrates many of our sentiments...

This is priceless. I hope it's not doctored. I feel for her. She usually seems unhappy and out of her element. This seals it.

I was one of those ready to say some inappropriate things about her and her past 'modeling' career. BUT, after seeing more and more clips of DT publicly ignoring, berating or mis-treating her, I will not say a thing. I feel for her, she is in her own personal hell and I hope she comes out of it OK

I feel nothing but sadness for this woman. There are many clips illustrative of how she is treated- and this is in front of millions when he's presumably on his best behavior. The clip of them arriving at the WH with the Tiffany gift. He exits the car and heads up the stairs without giving her a second thought. He doesn't turn to give his arm up the stairs, he doesn't even glance backward to see if she gets out her side. You can tell a lot about a man in how he treats his wife.

I can't see what you've posted but I assume it's the one at the podium where she is all smiles and then he appears to say something to her and she changes to a frown? I don't care exactly what happened (whether he scolded her or Barron or something else), if your husband can put that kind of look on your face, I feel sorry for you.

I hope she can find her own path in this and do something that's meaningful to her. Perhaps staying in NY away from him is the best thing for her to quietly ride this out.

Please. She's a grown woman who supported her husband's BS from day one. She's no fragile flower and she doesn't deserve a pass.

I believe she is bound by an iron clad prenup. DT has bragged about how airtight they are. She's doing her time. If she leaves now she will probably get nothing.

It is astounding at the lack of civility this man shows his wife. He has the worst manners I have ever seen. So sad, the photo of Obama and Michele holding Melania as she walked up the steps, Trump way in front as usual.

yeah, I don't know about that. I would almost consider that she's suffering from a form of battered wife syndrome.

I mean - can you effing imagine sharing a bed with that monstrosity?

One good thing about the White House is there are many around; staff and secret service.

Whatever abuse was done to her in the privacy of the Trump Towers suite would be harder to apply and keep secret in the WH.

I'm starting to think it was DT's decision to keep banish her to NY rather than her decision to stay the duration of their son's school year. My money's on her living in Manhattan permanently.

I agree. She was very vocal about Obamas birth certificate and obviously has very little knowledge about why this would be offensive.

I cannot see the image in the original post, either. But if it is the one at the dinner, it is very sobering to see. All the money in the world would not make up (to me, at least) for having to live with someone who treated me this way. Lots of money does not equal lots of class.

I disagree. Imagine how much damage she could do by filing for Divorce. The WH would probably give her anything she wanted to avoid that.

@kibbegirl - did you mean to upload an image in the first post?

Hmm, I hadn't thought of the timing but you're right. If ever there was a time to play her trump (no pun) card it would be now.

What? The great anti-normalizer losing steam all of a sudden? What is it- you imagining being Boris to her Natasha or is it the flinty glare that makes you weak?

Her husband professed to having a penchant for grabbing women's crotches and she said it was only "boy talk". She said she had boys at home so she knew all about it. She agreed with his racist birther trash and she blamed the press for telling lies about her husband telling lies. She knows exactly what she's doing and saying. She's no victim and acting as if she's trapped and being forced to appear complicit with his hateful crap will only help him in the long run.

After all, she won't be touched by any of the regressive legislation her husband signs to restrict women's rights. My wife and my daughter will.

And with that- two posts about Melania Trump is my limit.

Peace

When the anti-semites of the world didn't like the article about Melania in GQ back in April, they viciously targeted Julia Ioffe, the writer of the article. Melania's response, Ioffee "provoked it."

Two pictures say a million words. What a POS. Trump couldn't even pretend to have manners while POTUS and Mrs. Obama graciously welcomed Melania.

I am saying that being married to Trump is a form of abuse, and that she is suffering from it.

If she was all in, she would play the role of first lady. She obviously is not all in, so one must ask why. I don't think it's because of shyness.

What this has to do with normalization - I don't know.

That's my point. They reported this a week ago. Why no follow-up? If someone sued Hillary Clinton it would be in "the media" every day.

and thanks to the Clinton-era SCOTUS decision, a civil suit against the POTUS can proceed while the prez is still in office.

good times!

Comments about Melania Trump are completely counterproductive. I don't really care if she is complicit in Trump's middle-school behavior or not. When people make comments about Melania, it distracts us from the real problem which is the Trump Administration and, more specifically, Donald Trump.

A famous saying:

"When you marry for money

You earn every cent"

That was the easiest haiku, it wrote itself

I posted a video but I don't see it. Do you?

I agree with @filmbro. Read a great online article detailing her agreeable nature when it comes to his policies and crazy. Google interviews with her to refresh your memory.

Still believe she came into this country illegally to work and when she met him, he helped clean it up; still think she is not an academic and most likely feels inadequate around his adult children; still believe that even though she is not college educated, she feels comfortable in her husband's presence because his intellect is highly questionable; still believe that when make up is washed off, she's pretty damned average.

I'm with you right up until the last sentence. Who cares how she looks or he looks, or how fat Christie is, or how Michelle Obama looks. We have to get past that.

Really? But it's okay to poke fun at his hair, his hand size and his weight? And what was said about her that was demeaning? Said that w/out make up she's probably average. More of us are average than not; nothing wrong with average. They call them super models because only a few in our population have that height, weight and a canvas face to alter.
