Mechanic who makes house calls

I have a 60s Lincoln in my garage which will not start.  It's got a fresh battery and the lights etc work but absolutely nothing happens when I turn the key.  Does anyone know of a mechanic who might make a house call?  Since the car is in the garage down a very narrow driveway surrounded by a fence, it would be very difficult to tow it out of the garage and up the driveway.

Do you have AAA?  They can come to see if they can start the car and if not, I'm sure they'll know a way to get it out of the driveway and towed to a mechanic.

Sounds like the starter. You would have to find a mechanic who works on older cars, and hopefully can get the part.

it might take some elbow grease to push the car out to where it can be towed....have you tried calling some places and asking?  if they would need to get under the car, it might not be possible..

and actually...once someone was able to tow my car using a regular car a short distance....maybe a car that has a trailer hitch could do it...they could do that to get the car far enough for a tow truck to reach it (with someone steering the disabled car!)

If it's a straight shot - no curves - the tow truck might be able to use it's winch to pull it up the hill too.

Ridge Tire once had a guy come to my place - but then again I have been a regular customer for many years so not sure if this is something they would for someone who is not a regular customer.

Have someone smack the starter with a hammer as you try to start it. Starter may be stuck...

try definis - he is a solid guy and has come to my house to jump my car and to drop off/pick up when its serviced

Maybe call a plumber? : )

while turning the key, with the handbrake ON, jiggle shift lever between Park and Drive. Saftey neutral switch may be a bit off.good luck.

We just had some work done by toomeys on baker st. In Maplewood. They always pick up and drop off car when we need, and have given a jump when needed. They may be able to take a look if you are not too far? I would imagine that car would intrigue most old school "car guys"

Do you hear a clicking noise or nothing at all?  If it's a clicking noise but it won't turn over, likely the starter motor.  You can possibly get it started by crawling under and banging the starter motor a few times with a hammer.  Seriously.  Not a permanent fix but enough to get it to a mechanic.  If you hear nothing, it's probably the starter solenoid, which is attached to the starter motor and engages the starter motor to the flywheel during starting.  Either way, on a '60s vintage car, it's a fairly easy repair even for a DIY.  The hardest part may be finding the parts.

Post-mortem - Mrs. Lanky found a retired mechanic who diagnosed it as a failed starter motor. I had AAA tow it to the service shop and sure enough, that was it. She's running now. Thanks all for the suggestions (especially the AAA - free tow)!
