Drop off or mail your check, payable to SOMSD Parenting Center Toy Drive 525 Academy Street, Maplewood.
Or if you prefer -- drop an unwrapped gift for a child or teen into one of the collection boxes at:
The Maplewood Fire Station on Dunnell Road;
Gleasons Cleaners on Parker Avenue;
Keller Williams Realtors, Shenanigans, Palmers Sweetery and No.165 in downtown Maplewood;
Seton Hall University (DOVE, 108 Boyland Hall);
Spark House Toys, 9 Village Plaza, South Orange;
South Mountain Yoga and The UPS Store on South Orange Avenue.

These gifts are provided to parents who then wrap the items themselves and give them to their children
during the holidays.

When it comes to making life easier for our neighbors, the South Orange/Maplewood community is extraordinary, especially during the holiday season when the South Orange Maplewood School District’s Parenting Center runs its Annual Holiday Toy Drive.
Now in its 22nd year, the toy drive provides holiday gifts for children in our school district so we can ensure all our families enjoy the holiday season. Last year our toy drive benefitted over 500 children in 150 families in our two communities. And each year we count on all of you to help us bring the spirit of the holidays to our entire community so we can share in the joyous celebrations that mark this time of year.
How does it work? Unwrapped gifts, either purchased with donations or left in the collection boxes, will be provided to parents/caretakers identified by district social workers. These parents/caretakers provide a “wish list” to the social workers. Next, volunteers will “shop”, filling bags with wish list items for each family who will wrap the items themselves and give them to their children during the holidays. Rest assured, 100% of the donations will be used to buy gifts.
