Leaf Pick Up

I have a question about leaf pick up. Is there a town pick up schedule for leaf pick up this fall? Also, if you have a landscaper do they usually take the leaves or do they just put them near the curb for the town?

Which town are you in? They don't all handle it the same way, at least as far as I know.

In Maplewood, they publish a pickup schedule on the town website. Landscapers are supposed to follow it and only put leaves out on the streets due to be picked up in the next day or so. Most of them don't seem to bother following the schedule. They put them on the grass berms for the town to pick up.

If you are on a county street (Valley is one, I think Wyoming is another), there are different rules. I believe those streets have to have the leaves bagged to be picked up.

It is a tad early to worry about leaf pick-up

I looked on the town's website just now and there's nothing yet for the 2015 pickup. They do still have the 2014 info available, if you'd want to look at that to see what's involved. You can get to it from the MOL main page (not the forum home page) and click on the government line in the local links pull-down.

Not too early for me tomcat. Have piles of leaves on my lawn already.

From today's (10/7/2015) email for Maplewood. Based on this everyone should get their leaf piles in the street this weekend. All zones will be picked up next week (10/12).

Week of 10/19/15 - Section: 1,2,3,4

Week of 10/26/15 - Section: 5,6,1,2

Week of 11/02/15 - Section: 3,4,5,6

Week of 11/09/15 - Section: 1,2,3,4 (Inc. Veteran’s Day)

Week of 11/16/15 - Section: 5,6,1,2

Week of 11/23/15 - Section: 3,4,5,6

Week of 11/30/15 - Section: 1,2,3,4 (Inc. Saturday)

Week of 12/07/15 - Section: 5,6

Beginning the week of October 12th leaf piles will be collected in all Sections until regular Sectional collections begin on October 19th.

Please note that weather and equipment failures may cause a delay in the collection schedule. Delays should not be more than 1 or 2 days. If the Township gets ahead of schedule they may come through your section early, but will also be back during your scheduled week.

No leaves shall be put in the street more than 7 days prior to your scheduled week. No leaves shall be put in the street after the Sunday of your final collection week. No plastic bags or branches may be mixed with the leaves. Leaves will not be collected if there is evidence of plastic bags, branches, or other waste items.
