Jared Kushner's "To do" list

At age 36, Jared has quite a role in the new administration. For someone without government experience he has some pretty big projects on his list:

Kushner to lead 'American Innovation' office at White House
He will lead a new White House office aimed at reforming the federal government through private-sector solutions.

Will bring peace to the Middle East:
Trump confirmed in an interview with the Times of London that Kushner, an Orthodox Jew, will be used by his administration to try and broker a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians. "If you can't produce peace in the Middle East, nobody can," he told Kushner at the Union Station event.

'He has been incredibly successful, in both business and now politics,' Trump said. 'He will be an invaluable member of my team as I set and execute an ambitious agenda, putting the American people first.'

-----------------------------------

Anyone know of any good video of Jared laying out his visions - especially in regards to Middle East Peace?

I've heard that his first "private sector solution" for government is to start stiffing their contractors.

He needs to fix his father in law first.

Let's review full list of Jared's responsibilities:

  • Broker peace in the middle east
  • Head the Office of American Innovation to reinvent how government works
  • Implement the president's policy agenda
  • Act as the primary point of contact for heads of state, ministers, and ambassadors for two dozen countries (excuse my ignorance, but isn't that the job of the President and the Secretary of State?)
  • Reform the VA
  • Solve the opioid crisis

As I understand it, the 7th day will be a day of rest.

That is a borderline antisemitic comment tjohn.

Oh, please, give it a rest. It was a comment about a list of 6 big tasks, with a reference to scripture that is recognized by Christians as well.

No it was a clear reference to him being an Orthodox Jew. And since it was not relevent to the subject of the thread, throwing that in has an antisemitic subtext.

Oh, go jump in a lake. You desperately need therapy.

When you say the 7th day to me, I think of Sunday.

And I when made that comment, it was a clear indication that he was given a list of tasks that can only be accomplished with divine intervention.

As I said, get help. Your assumption of anti-Semitism under every rock is poisoning your judgement.

What's the connection between Kushner being in charge of solving the most intractable problems and his Judaism?

I took it as a joke based on this:

By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

I will have my developers work on a joke interpreter next. Let's just say - Jared has a lot on his plate.

Well, this Gilgul person is either calling me clueless, or saying that I"m siding with an anti-semitic posting. Either way, it's not very complimentary. That having been said, the attempt to derail criticism of Trump was kind of lame.

Yes it is one or the other. I lean towards the latter.

Gilgul,

Just to clarify your perspective:

  • Racism doesn't exist, but antisemitism is everywhere.

Did I get that correct?

Seems that way, doesn't it - like Communism in the 50's. A Red under every bed.

tjohn, you made a comment that can only be seen as designed to highlight that Kushner is an Orthodox Jew in a discussion where that is not relevant. There is no other way to see it than as antisemitic. And your subsequent attempts to justify the comment are all of the pattern that make it even more clear that that was indeed the original intent.

That's right. Defending yourself against charges of antisemitism only proves your antisemitism.

Get professional help before your paranoia devolves into full-blown incapacitating mental illness.

And this may disappoint you, but I don't really think about Kushner's Jewishness.

So Ridski, do you think there will be war between England and Scotland.

balderdash.
I went to Catholic school as a boy and our bible had that same creation story.

And I guess on your planet, this is an anti-semitic t-shirt

If they do, the novella I wrote in 1985 will look like a prophecy.

Oh, please. That's WHY it was funny! If I had noticed that it was a six-item list, I might have made the same joke.

Six items. You give me too much credit. I just saw the list and thought that it was somewhat more complicated than creating the world.

That too.

Oh yeh, you just happen to bring that up with regard to a person who is a Orthodox Jew and is well known to not work on Shabbat

. Maybe it is so ingrained you are not even fully conscious of your antisemitism. It is like making a gratuitous reference to watermelon in a thread about an African American then claiming well I just like watermelon

I simply read 'solve the opioid crisis', thought 'when all previous efforts everywhere else have failed????' And laughed in agreement at the joke. As a Jew working in a community services field, where the issues of addictions overwhelm our families regardless of their faith and cultural backgrounds.

Sometimes, something is just funny because it's funny.

How are the Kushners going to have time for all this office work/problem solving, with the intensive Passover cleaning and preparation that's taking place now?? Aren't new offices also meant to be spring-cleaned and prepped?? cheese
