ISO old Nancy Drew books

Not sure about the second hand stores around here --but has anyone seen old Nancy Drew books at any second hands stores lately? A long shot -but hoping I get lucky.

I have a bunch if you wanted to borrow them. They were my favorite and I'm hoping my own kids will love them too, so I'm not willing to part with them, but would be happy to loan them to you!

Thanks for the offer! but my daughter wants to collect the whole series, so I'm looking to buy.

I have a bunch. I loved them as a kid and my eldest did too, but neither of my other girls. (They are not from my childhood although some of them are older.) if you want I'll take a look at what I've got.

You and your daughter may already be aware of this, jules867, but just in case: The Nancy Drew (and Hardy Boys) books have undergone various revisions over the years, so the ones even in secondhand stores could be noticeably different from the versions some of us remember reading when we were kids.

Some background on the changes: http://www.nancydrewsleuth.com/textau.html

And a good NewYorker article from 2004, when the whole series was rebooted:

Nancy Drew's Father (it reminded me of the East Orange connection)

That'd be great @shh --thanks!

and thx for the link @DaveSchmidt -looking forward to the read.

Loved Nancy Drew in the era of driving the roadster. I had a mix of time periods in my collection of about 57 books. By the time I finished I knew the formula well enough that I may have been able to write one, and sometimes when my sisters and I get together (we are daughters of a real-life Carson Drew), we try.
