Are you sure you want to do this? It's a lot of work. Is it possible you could just install Ubuntu Linux and be done with it?

I've had to replace the hard drive in my laptop, which was painful enough, now I'm unable to install any version of Windows, since both my Windows XP & Windows 7 disk are UPGRADE's and are not recognized when I start up the computer. I've also tried the re-install disk that came with the computer, but I'm guessing that the original operating system would still need to be on the HD, since it is not recognized either.
If anyone has a copy that they no longer have a need for, I'd be happy to make a deal to get it.
Thanks.
