Yes. I drove on it today. It was heavenly.
During the week or so that it was milled, I saw a few cars pulled over at night on that stretch, presumably with damaged tires. I was going to great lengths to avoid that mess. There was one particular utility cover on the road by the top of Floods Hill that was especially problematic, I think it stuck out pretty high. And hard to see at night so I think people were driving into it at speed.
Someone finally put a traffic cone on top of it a few days ago.
Tangential question. If Prospect Street is a county road, why did the repaving stop at the South Orange/Maplewood town line? The road is still a mess between Parker Avenue and the border of South Orange.

Prospect Street is NOT a County road. Prospect Street is a local road that connects Union, Maplewood, and South Orange. Each municipality owns and maintains their own section of the road.

I know someone who lost a tire. Will the town be compensating these people? It's amazing they left it open in the condition it was - or still is.
