International Steampunk City?

Did anyone attend this weekend? Organizer said he'd try to get a date next year that didn't conflict with Comic Con , but it was dependent on when the Morris County Parks Dept could fit him in. This was only its second year at Historic Speedwell in Morristown. Several fun performances and activities, and we also explored the Historic Speedwell buildings at the same time. Yesterday's schedule was more packed with performers. Today's schedule had some unforeseen hiccups, when a car accident took down both a telephone pole and a light pole, just outside the grounds about an hour into the event. Eventually, power was cut to install new pole and wires, and the second half of the afternoon performers performed with no electricity... No bass guitars, microphones, keyboards, etc. but it worked out.

How is it I always find out about these things AFTER the event? Damn, I would have loved to go to this.

I know what you mean, ridski. Bookmark the site for next year.

Is steam punk still a thing?

Absolutely still a thing!

Is that a cat you can carry into battle as a gun, or a cat armed with a gun on its back for its own use?

I know steampunk has been around longer than it's been noticed by the media (I remember it showed up in a "Castle" episode a few years back). I think it's receded somewhat from the public eye in recent years, leaving the true aficionados to keep the flame alive. Preferably with brass bunsen burners attached to some kind of gear-operated gas pump.

It is an odd genre, isn't it?

And sadly I'll have to miss it again as it conflicts with about a thousand other things I have to do next weekend.

Clearly you have issues with prioritization.

Indeed I do. I did manage to score tickets to the Automatic party for the CHS Drama Club so I don't feel too bad about it.

Definitely a cat armed with its own weapon. My cat left this photo for me, apparently a hint.
