Health Plans It's that time of year!

Hi All, we've been moderately happy with: AARP MedicareComplete Plan 2 (HMO)

Other suggestions? I'm beginning to think going to regular Medicare with a supplemental. Thoughts?

I have to say that we pay a firm for financial advice and they don't seem to want to step close to this question. Bums me out!

Best Regards,

Ron Carter

If you look around at supplemental plans ("Medigap"), keep in mind that the exact same plans are offered by multiple companies, but the premiums charged vary. It's not right, but that's the way it is.

I don't mean to hijack the conversation, but am curious to see what plans other self-employed folks with young children have liked. Our current plan is going away so we need to pick a new one.

edited - apologies, I just noticed that this was posted in "Senior Issues" - I will start a new thread elsewhere.

My mom has traditional Medicare with AARP Supplemental policy. She had Medicare advantage Plans while in Florida and they were problematic there. When we moved her to NJ we switched her . She can use any doctor that takes Medicare and we haven't had any out of pocket costs. Premiums are higher and you need to add a Medicare drug coverage on as well.

You may want to compare the premium of the same plan with Horizon's charge.

Also, depending on your mom's particular needs, you may want to compare Plan F (the one I assume you have) with Plan N.
