I'm just devastated. The Weavers and their music and influence made up so much of my childhood, and I didn't even realize it until Pete Seeger died. And then I suddenly felt as if another member of my family had gone. Now this... Good night, Irene(Ronnie).

A memorable life. RIP

She not only survived the crap that was the Blacklist,

She sang true and clear long after it disappeared into the waste basket of history

Class and Courage always seem to go together.

Wasn't that a time!

I'll be interested to read her autobiography, which is scheduled to be released in October. Wonder if they held off on it until her death on purpose.

She might have wanted it that way herself, but I don't know. I didn't realize she was writing one. I'll look forward to reading it, too.

Class, courage and talent! Loved her voice, heart and mind

I've put the book on order at the South Orange Library.

The Weavers had such a remarkable influence...LL is right -- more than most know.

Funny thing is, so many people have no idea who the Weavers were. Actually, that's not funny. It's rather tragic.
