Field Trip today to Sunrise Mountain, N.J. Rattlesnake sighting.

Snake was sunning itself beside a rock. It was partly covered by leaves and weeds. Its eyes are gray, indicating it is preparing to shed its skin in a day or so. Number of rattles indicates it is about 13 years old. It was fat.

Also, Spring Azure butterfly,  White Tail Dragonfly and water over rocks in Steambrook Stream.
