Eye doctor recommendation?

I have done a search of the archives but didn't find anything very recent or that applied to me. I am looking for an eye doctor to do a general vision exam and the usual health stuff (glaucoma test etc). Don't care if optometrist or opthalmologist, just don't want to drive too far from Maplewood (overlook is about as far as I'll go to see a doctor for routine care).

Anybody love their eye doctor and want to share a name? TIA.

Dr. Dennis Delesio on Springfield Ave, across from Parkwood diner is great. Several neighbors agree. 

He came to the office for us on a New Year’s eve and correctly diagnosed trigeminal neuralgia in my 90 something mother-in-law, who had screaming eye pain. Confirmed by hospital days later. 

Plus he is very entertaining.

Thanks for the recommendations. I will check my insurance and take it from there. Much appreciated... narrows the field and good to know that people are satisfied with them.

 Have they resumed in-person appointments?  Last I heard the office was closed due to pandemic concerns and he was doing telemed appointments only.

 Yes, he’s back in his office. He returned several weeks ago. 

Thank you. I called just now and was able to reschedule my appointment that was canceled back in May of last year.

 Looks like he closed his West Orange office last month and is now only out in Whippany.   If I have to drive that far might as well go into Manhatten.    Anybody got a good Opthalmologist closer?
