I can recommend that if you can find it (and can't find anyone to deal with it), go buy some lime at Home Depot and spread it liberally over it. It'll help a great deal,
I can't find it. I've looked with a powerful flashlight and I can't see anything. I am wondering whether it is in a burrow in the ground under the porch. Don't want to go in there because of the fiberglass.
i just used attic care for my attic they were very good and thorough and prompt - not sure if they do porches but they know how to clean up this kind of thing http://www.atticareusa.com/
Jerry Buckingham located and removed the gelatinous remains of a (probably) rat from a crawl space in our basement. The man is unflappable and fearless. He'll also be able to tell you what it was that died, and how to keep it (or similar critters) from nesting there. Probably advise you on getting rid of the odor, too. Good luck!

eta: If Jerry will do it, I recommend him. He's the best!
I will definitely give him a call. We have abandoned our front porch and are only using the side entrance because the smell is simply unbearable. Blech!
Jerry couldn't do it. Fortunately the smell has dissipated. I don't know if it was a small critter or if, perhaps, some scavenger took care of it for us, I just hope the smell doesn't come back.

Something has definitely died under my porch. I tried to find it but there is a bunch of decaying fiberglass insulation under there that was left by a previous owner. Can anyone recommend a service that deals with this sort of thing?
