if no new wiring is needed, a handyman can do it. I have a very small electrical job that needs to be done, no electrician will bother. It can be done in 15 minutes. The ones that responded quoted about $1000. I'm not handy, but I would know how to do it, but I don't have the dexterity and wouldn't trust myself with wiring and I can't safely climb a ladder.
Do you mean:
a. Replace light bulbs (in fixture out of reach)?
b. Take down old fixture, and hang a new one?
c. Something else?
a or b, I can do it. For 'c', you might need an electrician, but we need to understand what the job entails.
just a PSA--if installing a dimmer switch, be sure switch can handle "load".

More importantly now - make sure dimmer switch is matched to type of bulbs and/or what is being dimmed. led “bulbs” require a certain dimmer, while a dimmer for led strips will need to be matched whether it’s an electronic or magnetic BALLEST (not ballers).
Btw overall on this post - if this is for a house say less than 50 years old it’ll be easier than in an old house.
