Canada just banned assault type weapons.

You have 2 years to turn them in and get paid some $.

After that, it is a criminal offense if you are caught with one.

Then you have all of the maniacs in Michigan protesting with their hardware on display. Nuts.

That said, Go Canada!

I believe the Leader of the Free World described the Michigan protesters with their weapons and swastikas and Confederate flags as “very good people.” (Code for: “Yay! I bet they all voted for me!” Yet another hideous moment for America. And that’s saying a lot lately.)

I do not understand why people carrying guns are allowed to enter the State Legislature Building. Every public building I enter has a metal detector you must go through to make sure you are not carrying a gun or other weapon. The Constitution guarantees the Right to "peaceably" assemble. I went to a number of Demonstrations in the 60s and saw others on TV. No one ever carried a gun and if they did I have no doubt that they would have been arrested.

True, it wasn't the protestors who carried weapons. Monday is the 50th Anniversary of the Kent State Massacre.

Actually, Kent State was May 4, which is Monday.

"Right to carry" laws are a recent addition to right wind states' law books.

Thanks, I changed it. Thought yesterday was the 3rd. I've lost track of time.

If these had been black people carrying arms they would have been shot.  I think the cops should just saturate these mobs with tear gas the minute they start to form.  There's a public health emergency for Christ's sake!

 I think you're absolutely right.

Reminds me of open carry, California, 1960's. This was a fine idea until Black Panthers, armed with shotguns, started following cops around. Suddenly, it wasn't a good idea. Ronnie Raygun got the state assembly to rescind open carry.
