Lana Meisner, wife of Eagles founder Randy Meisner, writer and singer of Take it To the Limit, apparently accidentally shot and killed herself by moving and discharging a rifle in her closet on Sunday.  Her husband Randy had been involved in a court dispute in 2015 because he allegedly had threatened suicide with an AK-47 and pills.  Very sad.

Michael White, of Rocky Horror and Monty Pyhton movies fame, has also died. 

Seriously, this is getting to be too much! It seems like every time we look up, there's another person we admire gone.

I'm sad for their families.

I'm fine but I'm posting my deepest feelings to an online bulletin board in Burundi. Never been there, of course, but, hey, they seem to listen.

This may not mean much unless you're a Kiwi, Brit or a fan of Aussie tv series...

UK born Australian singer, actor, song writer, muso and all-round nice guy Jon English's death was announced today, following complications from routine surgery. He was 66. 

It's a genuine loss to G&S circles in the Southern Hemisphere, we've lost our best chance at Spamalot, our romantic historical lead from the swashbuckling/bushranging/ pioneering era has gone, and a great Aussie rock classic artist has faded into silence. A voice we never thought we'd lose, or not until he was 90+.

Gary Jeter was a fine pass-rushing lineman for the Giants. He played on teams that had playoff-caliber defenses, but failed to win because of horrible offenses. Unfortunately, when LT and Bill Parcells arrived, his role became a little redundant so he missed the '80s glory days. However, he did have several more strong seasons with the Rams.

I've heard people say they were second cousins and I've also heard they're not related. Gary lived in Jersey (he even owed a "My Favorite Muffin" store), but never saw him at or heard him referenced on a Yankee game.

Ridski, I just noticed the announcement in the media here. 

This has been a big week for such news, here at least. Even accounting for 'people die, we're not immortal', most of these were influencing their chosen profession through mentoring, creating and even performance. So it's a shock to hear of their passing. If they're close-ish in age to us or our siblings, it's more so.

Such a rich legacy to re-explore this weekend.

My big brother took me to see Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the old Fillmore East a thousand years ago. I was probably the youngest person in the theater. 

He also took me to see the Stones, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Steppenwolf etc etc. At the Steppenwolf concert we were pressed right up against the front of the stage. Born to be Wild. I miss my brother. Gone 13 years already. Ah, the good ole days!

Sounds like a great brother. I was at the Fillmore East dozens of time. Yes, those were the days. St Marks Place, The Electric Circus, The Big Store, etc. Once I took my mother to the Fillmore to see the Zappa and Mothers of Invention - must have been 1971.

Yep. Magician, comedian, entertainer, and TV host. He had TV shows pretty much all through the 70s and 80s.
