Branch in Street

Well, this is a new one for me. A large branch broke off of my neighbor's tree and landed in the street. Then a snowplow came along and pushed the branch down the road so that it now's sitting in the street in front of my property. Not in my yard, but in the street up against the curb. Who's responsible for getting it taken care of? I've dealt with trees coming down from one property to another before, but this is different.

If its in the street, I believe the town will take care of it.

The town will take care of it; but, if it is off to the side of the road it could take a while.  There are many higher priorities right now.  Unless it is blocking an already cleared driveway, it is not causing as much trouble as downed power lines and fallen tree matter which is still blocking the roadways; or town trees that remain attached to people's houses.

Thank you, that's  a load off my mind. It's just sitting there, not blocking a driveway or anything, but cars can get around it. So I guess the city will come take care of it but might take a while.

There are trees down on pretty much every street. We had a street tree fall and block the street and it got cleared relatively quickly. (Cleared, of course, just means it's on our sidewalk now.) This morning I saw plenty of trees that were only blocking one lane of a street that hadn't been dealt with yet. So if the tree is already out of the way I wouldn't expect it to be a high priority.

Call PSE&G. They will be most concerned about it.

In Maplewood, I had to call PSE&G and Comcast and Verizon to get someone to clip a branch that was threatening a cable. It wasn't obvious whose cable it was. It turned out to be Verizon's, and the technician was surprised that I called it in proactively. It just seemed like the right thing to do.

thx I did and they are concerned . On the list for them to clip the branch .
